WE/WIRED SCULPTURAL WORKS

We/Wired: Posthuman Revolution In Motion.

The Convergence of Humanity and Technology: Human nature is rational, autonomous, and has the ability of free will. Today, a more in depth understanding of brain science, human biology, and rapid advancements in biotechnology challenge this notion. Transhumanists and scientists believe in fallen human nature, or the idea that human nature is limited in regards to our way of responding to new difficult tasks. In other words, the human, both physically and psychologically, needs modification. Technology and evolving biological science paves the way for this refinement and points towards the future of a posthuman race. Through this evolution, the most basic capacities of the posthuman will greatly surpass those of the human we know today. The new superhuman is said to use synthetic, artificial intelligence. The posthuman also moves away from a singular identity, and dissolves the individual. If this new form of a nonsingular, technologically advanced being is true, one has to question if it will allow a person to embody different identities. Therefore, the posthuman would hold the ability to see our society from numerous points of view at once. On the other hand, it is key to question if this biotechnological change will be the end of human morality and all of ethical behavior.

We/Wired: Posthuman Revolution sets out to highlight these ideals of a changing and futuristic society, and the convergence of humanity and technology. Our bodies and minds are en route to change at the hands of a group of scientific planners. Science does not require and encourage restraints against possibility, very possibly leading to an all-posthuman future. The sci-fi stories that at one time seemed so outlandish may become a reality.
